Planting Sunflowers!

On May 17, one of Farmer's Bloom's partner farmers planted one of our first fields of sunflowers for the season! A whopping 22,000 plants are seeded per acre. The flowers will take about 70 days to reach maturity, which means they’ll be lighting up the landscape around mid-late July.

While many of these sunflowers will find their way into our deliveries to partner institutions, they also serve a much bigger purpose. Sunflowers are an excellent food source for birds, bees, and butterflies, offering nourishment and habitat to pollinators.

Stay tuned as we watch these sunflowers grow, bringing color, connection, and conservation to our community.
